Journaling and NSBR stuff

Im wanting to take my father in laws picture albums (you know the icky 'magnetic' kind and make a scrapbook out of them, but im stuck on different types of journaling 'boxes, etc' to use... id like to do something creative with them... like ones that open or pull out, along those natures... im really looking for just different types of journaling boxes instead of just the ones you can plainly see... does anyone understand what im saying? if ive lost anyone let me know...

on the baby front, i have 6 weeks left, have everything set up and ready to go, and we are just TOO excited for him to be here. I start childbirth classes on Thursday the 31st until April 21st. We have definitely decided to name him Kai (Hawaiian for Ocean) and have yet to pick his middle name. I like Alexander, he doesnt...

Lacey, An idea I am using is cards for journaling. I fold cardstock to make a card and do the journaling inside, then mount the picture on the cardstock. It looks like it is just mounted, so I put a small tag of ribbon or something like that on the edge so it is sort-of obvious there is more underneath. This is great for those memories you do not necessarily want to share now. I also use tags and stick them in behind the matted picture so they can be pulled out.

I found a program a while back that can do journaling boxes in different shapes, I just can't remember what it was called. I've also used large die-cuts for journaling boxes, just used a shape that fit the page. HTH.

Glad to hear all is going well with the future Kai.

Lacey you can use envelopes to put your journaling in. You can make them out of almost anything, vellum, paper, etc. You can also hide the journaling behind a picture. Tags are another option for your journaling. I also have a pattern for a library pocket like you find inside library books and that works great for journaling too.

I like the name Kai. Very different.

Hi Lacey,

Kai is a very pretty name. I'm pretty excited too, my BIL just emailed me to let me know that they are are inducing my SIL tomorrow at 6AM, so I should be an auntie tomorrow!

As for your journaling question, one of the other ways that people are including journaling is in mini file folders. That way the journaling is more private. Now that I share my layouts online a lot of my journaling is more private, LOL!

Enjoy your last few weeks of all night (or near all night ) sleeping! I can't remember is this your first baby?

Lacey, I like the name you have picked out. When my DH and I did not agree on a name ....I just said ...fine, I am the one that will be filling out the birth certificate and I will use the name I want. LOL

I love the name Kai. One of my cousins named her son Kai. I can't remember the middle name. He was made in Hawaii so they went with the whole theme through out the pregnancy. The baby room was all ocean surfer theme, the shower and announcements. Very pretty.
