Call for next round for the NSSSF Swap is up. This is one of the best ways on our group to get to know individual members. I for one have met many wonderful ladies and guys this way.

(Please feel free to send me an e-mail if you have any questions.) GUIDE LINES.....

If you would like someone to share your scrapbooking accomplishments personally... someone to encourage you to do more pages, someone to exchange little gifts of encouragement with... and best of all, someone from our wonderful newsgroup to get to know better.. Join the Not So Secret Scrapbooking Friend (NSSSF) Swap.

The following guidelines have been established to help organize NSSSF and hopefully assuage hurt feelings and misunderstandings.

  1. To be eligible to be and have an NSSSF you must have been a "regular" poster to RCS for a minimum of three months. A regular poster is one who posts at least 2-3 messages per week! The NSSSF Coordinator does have the discretion to allow a long time regular who was absent "with cause", to register. However the Coordinator must be confident that the person will not disappear again, but will post to RCS regularly at least during the three month period of the NSSSF round.

  1. Commit to uplifting your NSSSF at least once each month during a three-month session with a surprise gift. Problems may arise from time to time. If you cannot meet this commitment, send your Not So Secret Scrapbook Friend Coordinator an e-mail. The important thing is to let your Coordinator know as soon as possible. Hopefully this will eliminate someone from having hurt feelings or being left out. Note: Feel free to send little surprises more often, but send something at least once a month. If after one month your NSSSF has not received/ heard anything from you, a friendly reminder will be sent to you. If no action is taken, the Monitor will assign a new NSSSF and your participation in this session will end.

  2. Items must be sent via "Snail" mail. In other words, gifts must arrive at your NSSSF's home or mailing address. You may also send e-mail, postcards, greeting cards, virtual flowers and messages.

  1. THANKS. PLEASE thank your NSSSF for EVERYTHING you receive. When you receive your package please post a thank you message with details directly on the newsgroup! We all love hearing what people are receiving! You can and probably should also thank your NSSSF privately by email. This is the only way she will know that you have received what she sent if for some reason she can't access the newsgroup everyday.

  2. Prior to the end of each three-month session, please notify Coordinator of your wish to continue participating in the NSSSF Swap. If at any time you wish to end your participation, notify your Coordinator immediately.

  1. If, after reading the guidelines, you would like to participate, please click here to fill in the required information and email it. If you have any questions just click on this link to email the NSSSF Coordinator.

Your Coordinator will do her best to match you with another scrapbooker who shares your interests and is in the same gift range. However, sometimes there is an odd number of people in one price range, so the Coordinator has the right to match scrapbookers without regard to criteria. If the match is not acceptable, contact our Coordinator as soon as possible at NSSSF snipped-for-privacy@r-c-s.info.

  1. Have fun and enjoy!

I will not be participating in NSSSF anymore... i think its cursed for me.. I've had 3, and none of them really participated.. then the last one finally does last minute and the day she almost dies is the day I get my package... I know I was an after thought and I just get so tired of putting so much into something and being nothing more than an afterthought. I get the point. RCS people don't like me. Okay, I get it... good riddance.

nope.. never again...

Thanks Tammy for taking this on in the middle of all the craziness you have going on right now! I hope that you know how much we and specifically I appreciate your efforts at making this program work. Sure it doesn't always go off without a hitch.

Life, good and bad sometimes intervenes and time gets away from people and they forget some of their commitments. I know that I'm naive and always want to believe the best of people, but I think that when someone forgets to do their NSSSF stuff it is often embarassement that keeps them silent instead of making up for lost time. I hope that everyone in here will think before committing to this NSSSF round and that having decided to join, they will add this commitment to their to do list or calendar and honor it. I also hope that if something comes up, if a deadline is missed, that you will write to your NSSSF or Tammy and let them know how you plan on moving forward with making up for any lapse. If the problem is financial, please write to Tammy and/or even to me and believe me, we will help you to make sure that your NSSSF is taken care of. As many have said in here this program is a great one. But is is only as good as the integrity of the people that participate.

This is M-C getting off her soap box!

Ditto what M-C said. (I think she wrote it much better than I could though)

The only way we can have fun is if everyone that signs up actually participates.

I've participated in the past, but don't currently. I have a completely different reason though. I have always loved what I have received and very much appreciated everything. We don't have a local lss here. I was depending on Michael's, Wal*Mart and Hobby Lobby. I would get such wonderful packages, then I would feel like what I sent was "lame". I skipped a couple of times, then signed up again when we had an lss open up. It has since closed. I want to thank all my NSSSF's who (I think) never complained about getting stuff that they could probably have bought locally. If I had access to another store, I would sign up again.

I highly recommend participating. It was such a joy to "meet" some of the people here.

Cecelia, I understand why you might feel that way, but there is always something at Michael's that I lust over and I'm sure I'm not the only one! I know that if I were your NSSSF, I would simply take that into consideration doing my wish list. For example. I bet this round you could buy tons of spools of ribbons for your NSSSF. I know that I've bought just about every spool that they have! Also, just a thought, but since you have to ship the stuff to your NSSSF anyways, couldn't you have tons of fun online shopping? To help my NSSSF get a feel for what I like, I went wishful shopping yhesterday at scrapbook.com and created a wish list. I'm going to do the same at another online store just for the fun of it. Again, it is jst a thought!
