New Stamping toys

I went to the local Rubber Stamp Convention yesterday. The item I found most intriguing was this "Tiles" templates. A few years ago my crafting buddy and I made quite a few mosiac like cards using masking tape that we tried to "desticky" (is that a word) by sticking it to our pillows, shirts, pants what ever was handy. Then we'd stick it to the paper hoping it was just sticky enough to do the mosiac stained glass look, but not sticky enough to tear the paper. We were successful about 80% of the time. When we saw these templates our first thought was "NO MORE TAPE!" Yeah! The link above gives a demo of the templates, so you can get an idea of what I bought. The 2nd link goes to my webshots account where I have my first experimentation with the Tile Star Template. Look in my other crafts album.

I also bought supplies to start taking my rubber stamps off of their wooden backs. I'll be adding a foam backing that has the plastic cling material on the other side. Then I'll be sticking them on to static cling pages in a binder. My goal is to do one drawer of stamps this summer. I'm so tired of ... a. not having room to store my stamps properly b. not being able to find desired stamps, because of reason "a"

I enjoy stamping in my scrapbooks and on cards and I have to settle for what I can find. No more.

I put all my CDs in binders a few years ago and it has been wonderful to have the binders tucked away and not a major display in my living room. I look forward to "tucking away" my rubber stamps and being able to find them easily.

The templates are nice, I have a snowflake and a circle in a square design. There is a white painters low tack tape that works well. Walmart has had it back by the masking tape. The blue painter's tape is too sticky. Stampland also sells a low tack tape in various widths. I've also use the repositionable adhesive cartridge in my xyron with punchies to create masks.
