OT: Happy Easter!!

Wow, just got back from a long, & weary, but good day. Today was our church's annual Easter Egg Hunt. The church has done this for 8 years. This is DH & I's 3rd year being involved. We had a total of 11, 217 stuffed Easter Eggs!!! More than we had last year, but not quite the 15,000 we thought we would have. It turned real cold a couple days ago, and of course, windy. But God brought the sun out for us, and the wind died down just in time for the kids to go gather eggs. All in all, everyone had fun. The workers are all pooped, but it was worth it. It's always worth it, though. Now we go hit the clearance sales for eggs for next year! LOL We set out collection boxes for people to put the empty eggs back in, but we always lose some. Knowing DH, his goal for next year is already 15,000! LOL

That sounds like so much fun! I remember doing that when I was in grade 2! Happy Easter to you too!

Happy Easter, Deb! Sounds like another good year. I helped stuff eggs a couple of years for our community's egg hunt. I have a good idea of what you've been through. Bless you and your husband for being volunteers, along with the rest of your group. Volunteers are fast becoming scarce in this ever changing world. Are you taking pictures and scrapping the event every year? Sandy

Happy Easter Deb!

Sound like you had fun! I don't think I ever got to go on egg hunts when I was a kid! I just remember getting Easter Baskets full of chocolate bunnies, etc. candy.

I'll see if I find any eggs on clearance to add to your growing collection....I know M's had them for $1.00 a bag, last time I was there!

My grandmother used to do it for us kids (3) but not the the HUGE scale you guys did.

In 1994/5 my grandmother was weeding her flower bed and found a lone egg for my cousin --20 years later. He got a kick out of opening it on that easter to find a dusty red fire engine matchbox car inside.
