hot glue?

Hey, is it safe to use hot glue on layouts, for embellishments not photos?

I would assume so as long as it doesn't touch the photo. I know that there was a fad in scrapbooking a few years ago where people made embellishments using colored hot glue by making a round "blob" of hot glue on a piece of metal then flatening it down by stamping it with a rubber stamp while it was still hot. When the hot glue cooled the rubber stamp peeled off without being harmed. It was like a wax seal. Sandy

I was the fad still last year the rubber stamp convention near me. They were even making them so flat they were sending them through a sizzix after texturizing them with a rubber stamp.

My concern would be if the hot glue is acid free. Could you achieve the same effect with silicon glue or foam pads?

Probably. Or glue dots. I was just trying to work with what I had at home so I didn't need to do any more shopping. Turns out my regular glue stick worked fine.
