OT: It's 98 degrees....

I have had a migraine for the last three days, the airconditioner just broke My father in law, not watching what he was doing just spilled coffee all over my finished ATCs for the swap and we just lost electricity (thank god for battery powered lap tops) ...what more can go wrong?

It's 99 degrees here and I haven't left the house for 3 days because of my asthma. I have been bitching that the ac is not cooling off the house as well as it should but today when our groceries were delivered the girl said it felt great in here and asked if she could stay. I guess I should stop complaining....

I'm sorry you had such a bad day. I hope you are feeling better soon.

It has been raining here for the last week. I'm getting so tired of the rain and wind.

Wow you get your groceries delivered. I didn't know anyone still did that. Amazing.

The grocery store that I use to shop in began offering online shopping and delivery a couple of years ago. The prices are the same as the store and they have lots of web only specials since you can't use coupons and you choose the date and a 2hr window when you want the groceries delivered. They shop for it, ring it out, bag it, load it in a truck equipped with a refrigerator and freezer for the cold stuff, carry it in and put it wherever I want. I have never had to pay anything extra except for a $1.48 fuel surcharge that they started adding last month because they always have a free delivery deal. The drivers are not allowed to take tips and refuse to no matter how much you argue with them. Oh and I get 2 free movie tickets or some other treat every time as well as frequent flyer miles.

I shop at Genuardi's which is part of the Safeway/Vons/Dominicks/Carrs/Randalls/Tom Thumb/ stores. Maybe you have one near you?

I hear you! We are just getting used to this Texas weather and it has been hotter than usual this time of year. We got our electric bill yesterday--YIKES! I went ahead and splurged on some draperies. I hope they will help keep the bill down as all I have up now are blinds. Anything to make it comfortable for me and the kiddos this summer. I got sunburnt on Friday and will not go to the pool until it heals up a bit.

for some of my food deliveries. It is just easier as my time is precious. The headache is finally gone, I hate hormonal headaches. my father in law purchased a new air conditioner as opposed to getting the one in the storage unit. Now we're just waiting for the tornado watch to lapse. LOL

We're hot and humid here in Southern Indiana. Heat index has been

95-98 with the humidity at 85-90%. So glad the storm rolled through as the temps have dropped back to the upper 80's. DS is a Boy Scout resident camp this week and I was worried about the heat. Our problem here is water/flooding. My oldest DD lives 1.5 miles from the river and can see the flooding in the fields from her house, and she lives in town. IF it gets any closer they have to shut down the electricity to the town she lives in. Right now the water pumping station has been affected and they are on a boil advisory and very limited use (no laundry/watering lawns or flowers/washing cars etc........flushing toilets only till the water runs out. The community even drained the local swimming pool and used that water. She's coming here with the grandchildren when they shut off the electricity. A friend of mine was evacuated from her town a few miles north of me as the levve broke and the town flooded. the bridge has been shut down to Ill from vincennes and they don't think the dam will hold there. They are sandbaging there now. It's a mess. So many roads and highways are shut down that it's hard to plan a trip anywhere without calling the state police first.

Let 'em dry out. Now they're antiqued. Of course, I don't know what they looked like to start w/.

I know it's been extra hot up there already. Take care. Just storms w/ horrible humidity ahead of them followed by a beautiful, cooler, humidity free day and then the cycle starts over here. I'm sick and tired of all this rain and tornados.
