OT: Loss of a dear friend

Selena, my prayers are with you. I know how hard it can be. I just lost my purebred beagle a while ago. I still have another purebred, and a beagle/basset mix. I know how this breed of furbabies can really touch your heart with that innocent puppy face. Just think though, Mariah is playing at the end of the rainbow bridge, and will be there when it is your time to go many moons from now. She will be waiting for you.

I know that poem all to well. When my ???? dog left this world my parents told it to me, and when my son lost his, I told it to him. It was heartbreaking but it comforted me, kind of like heaven.

Thanks Maureen. She will definitely be missed. It was hard going to bed last night and know that she wasn't in her little doggie bed. :(

Thank you Lynne. No, I'm not on the RAK list. I wanted to do that, but I always seem to wait to late for those types of things. (Big procrastinator, but working on it).

It was kinda funny. We had a long leash outside that we used so that she could do her business...we live in a mobile home community, so can't have a fenced yard. I had taken it down and rolled it up. My son came in from work, saw it, and stuck it in his pocket. (He's 19) He said he was going to keep it. It really touched my heart to know he felt that much for her.

Thank you Shelley. It's so fresh right now that I don't know how I'm going to be able to teach my class and keep a "stiff upper lip."

I lost one of my dearest friends and family member...my beagle mix, Mariah. She has been my baby for 7 years now. She suddenly became ill today. I still don't know what happened, but she died shortly after I came home from work. She will be greatly missed.

I am sorry for your loss. I have two beagles and would be devastated to lose one of them, as they are like Mariah, family members. I hope you find the cause. Jacqui
