OT: Shopping question...

Since I'm in charge of the displays in my section and coordinating the classroom activities. I have a question for you folks.

When you walk around JoAnns, Michaels, AC Moore, etc and see the displays do you wish they would list the aisle where the items can be found and what products used?

For example: You see in the template/coluzzle aisle a great card that you'd love to scrap lift. Would you like a small sign next to it saying "brazzil paper aisle 5, jolee's by you aisle 7, letter stickers aisle 8, MM bradlets aisle 6"

Just wondering.

Any and all feedback to make my AC Moore the best let me know.

I'm so excited I think I've surpassed Cloud 9 and am now circling Saturn's moon Titan. LOL

Off to my sister's to celebrate Larrys 40th birthday and my new job.

Hugs, Kate

Hey Kate, That is a GREAT Idea! I for one would LOVE that information exposed to me so I may scraplift it at my discretion. Congrats again and God Bless, Dorothy in NY

Oh yes I'd love a sign like that. Displays definitely make me buy stuff.

It is a terrific idea! But before implementing, I would consider if it doesn't have the potential of becoming too time consuming. What I mean by that is how long will the the stock you use in the display be available. I think you also have to consider what the reaction might be if a person saw the card listing the products, looked at the list only to find that the products were not available or had been moved. Without the card it is just an idea of what can be done, with no expectation that the products are available. It might be that with the card, a certain expectation of availability is introduced. I'm not trying to be negative, I love the idea, but I remember Kenda and I being in the LSS once and looking at stamping samples and both of us making the observation that if they don't have it, they shouldn't show it!

It really is a thrill to see you so excited. Makes me wish I could go see what you're up to in a few months!

M-C P.S. I hope that those of you who are changing jobs between now and the barn tell your new bosses you need the time off, LOL!

You sound so happy and excited with this new job! I am very glad for you! In my opinion, I think that if you want to provide the customer with the type of product used in the display, that would be fine. Maybe if you really want to provide location, you could use a more general description of the location of the items, like "Located in the scrapbooking paper section, diecuts, or Album section, or rubber stamping section, etc? I work in retail, and things DO get moved a lot, so that is something you might want to keep in mind!

have Fun! Linda C
