The family and I will be leaving in the next day or so to go on vacation. Will be gone about a week. We are headed to North GA to celebrate Dad's 80th birthday! Tried to make it a surprise but it's just not happening. His lovely wife keeps telling him things! lol
We thought we had the perfect Birthday Surprise in store for him...he's one of
2 children and has been trying, without success, to get his brother & wife to come visit. Soooo my brothers, their wives, DH and I paid for airline tickets to fly my Aunt and Uncle down for the party. They will be there for almost 2 weeks. It was going to be a wonderful surprise! Until Sunday morning when I was on the phone with Dad and Joan and I said...."we'll be there sometime Friday night. We'll eat dinner before we get there." Joan pipes in "Oh....we'll have food here since I'll be cooking for Jerry and Mary!" So much for a surprise.........the only one that got the benefit of the reaction was Joan! I could not believe she said that...neither could she. Dad promised to act surprised and I promised not to tell my brothers that he knows. So much for the best laid plans! lol There is one other surprise.....my Mom's only surviving sister and her DH are coming. Dad hasn't seen them since Mom's funeral. Say a prayer that it's well received. Don't chat too much while I;m gone!Susan -FL
