Hey ronni! You would definitely need an additional flash with this particular camera, as it seems to be mostly for fill-in and nearby shots. The guy at the camera store told me it takes all Canon lenses (even gave me a catalog with all the accessories - lots of choices - you can even get one of those 35 pound 1200 lenses!!! lol). My dh said he wished we would have bought a Canon SLR a few years back instead of Minolta so we could have interchanged lenses (unfortunately, I didn't have my crystal ball that day!). This camera really works like a film camera as far as settings can be fully manual, as can focus, there's no digital zoom, but it stores on CF card instead of film.
We have a really small local paper here and I was thinking after I got this camera "I could get them better shots than that!" (of course, I think I could do a whole better paper, but that's another story...).
