Playing with an embossing corner punch and rubber stamps

When we went to Joanns the other day they had the new embossing corner punches out, so DH said that he'd buy me one... I was trying it out this afternoon, and it seems to work best on vellum. It also works on thickish paper or light cardstock but it doesn't emboss as well... I punched the corners and then lightly inked them and inked the fronts of the cards as well for good measure... then I played with a few other goodies I had and made some valentines.

After stamping three pink cards I was tired of it and wanted a change! :) The cards started out with a light green cardstock but I sponged so much blue ink over them that you can't tell until you open them up!

I'm a rebel anyway., I love to do things people don't expect. When I did the birth page for my daughter, I started with pink and white but it was SO not Laura that i added black. People think I'm crazy but it's much more her.

Very pretty Karen! You did a great job, and looks like you had fun playing, too. TFS!

Great job on the cards Karen...I loved the blue ones particularly :o) I have looked at the embossing punches but thought they may not be as effective as a lightbox and stencil. Have you tried Paper Glide? Apparently that is supposed to make embossing easier and the detail much crisper....I still think that there may be a problem with thicker cardstock though!

I've never done 'real' embossing... the punch looked like a cute shortcut! It works but you have to press down very hard to make it come out even... I tried it on some slightly thinner cardstock and it worked much better.

Very pretty. I have wondered how well embossing punches would work. Sandy
