RAK'D By Cowchipper (April)

Thank you April. I got the little box of goodies today. It really made my day. I wasn't having a good day and then went and got the mail :) Thanks. The ribbon is so cute.. The angels and the little unicorn :) I love all the little goodies in that little box :) The paper was cute too :) Oh and the cross stitch things. I've never cross stitched with beads before. Oh and I entered the Where's George Bill too :) Do I keep it or spend it? It said to spend it on the site but I didn't know what you wanted us to do with them. Thanks again for everything. Really made my day :)

You are very Welcome! You spend it any where you want. I just like to get the hits. You don't spend it on the site. Their motto is "ENTER-MARK-SPEND". I have entered over 10,900 bills there and I love finding out where people find them. It shows that yours got there in 1 day and 13 hours from the time I marked, entered and Sent it!... Too Cool!

Your Welcome, Cowchipper aka April

"The purpose of Where's George? is to track the natural and geographiccirculation of currency. This means that any bills you enter should bespent by you in the normal course of everyday life. Giving bills tofriends, relatives and/or associates for the purpose of re-entry intothe website violates the whole premise of Where's George?. After youenter any bills, just enter them into natural circulation by spendingthem as you would any other bills. Sending bills via US mail or anytransportation methods to people in other locales does not constitutenatural and geographic circulation. In general, the Where's George?definition of natural and geographic circulation is spending your cashin the course of any normal transaction with any unknownperson/entity. "

I don't know who you are but Just becasue it was sent in the mail doesn't mean I didn't spend it. It is spent on the return of an RAK package at a later time. Mybmaybe it is not sent now or in a month or even a few months from now but it is spent in trade as the RAK is a swap. Sounds like your just a troll or trouble maker to me. What about those people that send there money to buy ebay items. So in a way I am sending it to buy someting later on down the line. So unless you know the WHOLE story I think you need to go away!

From more and more research this is a troll/lurker/troublemaker.....

has went by several names and most recently "anal gluestick" and "ryannosaurus".... please ignore him as he is out to cause trouble for everyone. He is so chicken that he keeps changing his email and name to avoid being foundout

I am exactly the sort of poster unchartered rogue newsgroups are guarenteed to eventually attract, only with bells on! It's just like gravity, only with ribbons and pinking shears. Ain't life grand?

and that would, of course, *require* you to mail a marked wheresgeorge bill, rather than an unmarked bill, postage stamps, a personal check, butterscotch pudding, or better yet, a money order you bought with a marked bill. umm hmmm

sending cash in the US mail is generally considered stupid, even by the US Postal Service.

sending a wheresgeorge bill in the mail is uber-stupid, as the person paying the freight for providing you with that little diversion has made it rather clear that that is unacceptable use of his site. apparently you just think you are way more important than the thousands and thousands of people who can play by the rules! I'm glad I get to meet someone soooo special!!!1! Can I send you a box of ribbons I had stuffed up my cooter???

I'd suggest you mention "swapping" in any of the wheresgeorge forums, and see just how many friends you soon aquire! Make sure to include an url to any bills you "spent on the return of an RAK package at a later time."

a lot of them are scurilous idiots, too!

Send someone some wheresgeorge bills in exchange for an english dictionary. Then go look up "prevarication", dear heart.

*poof*

it worked, just like magic!

April Right now, we are bound to get lots of trolls ( unfortunately) because in the last few days our group has been cross posted everywhere. Eventually it will go away. But I am warning everyone that this fight is not over. On news.groups a lot of talk going on about our group still. Some are saying they can make it official and we will never even know! I do believe they are going through with this. Then we will have more trolls than we ever knew what to do with them!

"Do not panic"

It only took one to start cross posting, to get others involved. Several of the groups cross posted to are well known fot the percentage of trolls, etc.

Eventually it

If the regs do choose to reply to any bait, watch to make sure cross posts are removed. It will go away.

The only ones that really matter are Russ and Todd and both of them appear unwilling to send a control message against the wishes of the group.

I do believe they are going through

Not likely at this time.

Then we will have more trolls than we ever knew what to do with

Actually some that do not carry this group now have a better track record of removing trolls though filters, enforcement of AUP/TOS etc then providers that are carring the group now.

Oh yes discussion will continue, perhaps for months about the pros and cons of changing the process. That does not mean something will be changed. Change comes very slow to changing the big-8. The last major change was over 10 years ago (and sending a control for this group would be a major change). Minor changes are far more common, changing a word in the guidelines to better describe how the current process is intended to work.
