re:cricut

Stan, Thanks for the idea about Ebay... I have bought on EBay many times in the past... About a year ago, I was ripped-off ~$1200 from somebody busting into my PayPal account... I did recover the money from my bank who subsequently went after PayPal for reimbursement, but will never use them again... That is generally the way people prefer to pay, especially bigger amounts, so I have stayed away.

Lisa,

That's terrible -- I can see why you are feeling a little jaded - I think I would too.

I've made it a policy to pretty much keep my PayPal balance down to zero -- however, more so that PayPal can't 'freeze' the funds on some whim -- I've read horror stories about this.

I believe you can also, now, use a service called BidPay -- but I've not looked into them much. You used to be able to use BidPay with foreign customers where the funds could be deposited in your bank account within a couple days -- they have changed their chart slightly and are not doing the 'international' thing anymore (at least last time I checked). They are now just a credit-card processing clearinghouse or something.

Anyway, it sucks getting ripped off -- you've got to protect yourself on all fronts in the online world.

Have a nice day!

Stan
