Re: Info on Scrapbook Garage Sale

The way my LSS has their garage sale is this. You bring in the things you want to sell. You price them yourself. The store provides the tables free of charge. The total of your sale is given to you in a store credit. I've never arrived at the sale when it started, only later when all of the "good" stuff has been picked over. In conjuction, the store usually cleans out thier old/slow sellers at a good price.

I would rather pay for a table and keep the cash generated rather than accept a store credit so I could use it or put it towards a large ticket item. I rarely shop at the LSS, they are snotty and I get better deals online.

M-C,

Thanks for answering my question.

Lori, I'm sorry your LSS store is undesireable.

We have a great LSS

Unfortunatly they have discontinued their online store so I cannot enable all you folks with lousy LSS's. Of course, LSS is more expensive then Micheal's (which is 2 streets away as the crow flies, though there is a mall sitting smack in- between them. If I am looking for something specific or something I know will be hard to find I go to LSS. When I need inspiration I go to LSS. If I am just shopping to scrap I go to Michael's. JoAnn's and Walmart have practically no selection at all, it's very very tiny and disappointing. Nearly impossible to find anything desireable (or at least to my taste anyway).

Now I am done with the hijack.

M-C, you make an excellent point regarding the garage sale and considering credit vs. cash. I was thinking I wouldn't care either way, however once you pointed out (what should have been obvious -- guess I was have a DUH! moment)... Why would I be selling my unused product only to buy more product that will go unused. You've changed my mind and I agree.

I am going to find out if my LSS ever has a garage sale if they do not I'm going to suggest it; they have the room

PS. They're having a Photography 101 class this weekend. If I weren't going to a retreat I'd be in that class.

I see alot of people on the net write that their JoAnn's has a limited selection and I feel very lucky because the one here has a huge scrapbook department with row upon row of scrapbook paper and cardstock. If you want something they don't have they will try and get it for you.

My JoAnn's here used to have a great scrapbook section, but they rearranged everything and now the scrapbooking section is tiny. They replaced about half of the section with other stuff. I was so upset. I have a Hobby Lobby, Michael's and 2 LSS within 5 miles of me, so I just go to those places instead of JoAnn's.
