Roll Call of names, countries, states/provinces, and more

Can you email me privately from the address you've given below? I don't want to screw it up and give all my personal info to some crackpot. And with my luck, I'll put in one wrong typo and have some nutcase stalking me. LOL The rce after the cse part confuses me because this is a rec newsgroup and the letters are mixed up..... ;o)

Thanks Lyn! I don't think I get MC's posts at all... I was looking through all the messages trying to find it and I don't appear to have ANY posts from her. Looks like they're not getting through to the German newsserver maybe?

Okay, got it...

Sandy had a great idea and if you do this next to the right spaces, it will make it easy for me to create a spreadsheet. Lurkers are more than welcome to chime in:

First Name: Karen Online Name: Kajikit Country: USA (born in Australia) State/Province: Florida Birthday: 23 May 1971

# of boy children: 0 # of girl children: 0 (but two furry girls) # of grandchildren 0

Regular poster since: March 2005 (I think) Lurker Since: January 2005

ADDITIONAL EMAIL TO MC INFO - REGULAR POSTERS ONLY!

I probably don't count as a 'regular' because I keep forgetting to post... so I'll hold off on this a bit.

If you are a "regular poster" (that's 3 months of gabbing with all of us 2-3 times a week and counts even if you don't have your bio on the websitre) and want to be included please "EMAIL me the following (DO NOT POST IT HERE!) Copy and paste the following into an email: and send it to me at itsmcsemail-rcs AT yahoo DOT com First name: Last name: Email Address: Address linee1: Address line 2: City: State/Province: Country: Postal Code/Zip

Please answer YES OR NO to the following:

I agree to share my address with "regular" members of RCS: IF you agree, I will send you a list of the other people that have agreed so that you and they can exchange cards, RAK's etc. If you do not want to share your addy with others, but want me to have it, I will respect your decision and not share your addy without getting back to you to see if you want to share it with a particular person that is asking for it.

It may take me a while to compile these lists. I will let you all know when either or both are ready.

Hi Susanne, Hopefully you'll decide to delurk some more. I would love tolearn more about you and your country. Some of my ancestors came from Germany, I wish I couls speak german then I could understand what my DH's grandparents are saying sometimes as they too came from Germany and still speak German. Unfortunately languages and I don't tend to get along and at times I find myself butchering my own language.

Thanks for your welcome!

It is not so much because of my english (at the most I am afraid to be impolite since we germans do have a different mentality and as I experienced we are not so much able to small talk with complete strangers), that I don't post, I just don't have much to contribute. I'm a wannabe-scrapper and regular lurker :) I first noticed this newsgroup when it was new on my newsserver and am reading it regularly since that time. I like to look at all the beautiful layouts and to see how caring everybody is. You seem to be like a big family.

To shortly introduce myself: I am a 24 year old computer science student. A couple of years ago I was an Au Pair with a family in New Jersey and since that time a huge USA-fan. In the future I'm hoping to be able to move to the US, at least for a few years.

I'm living in a dormetorie which means I don't have much space. This is the main reason why I don't really scrap. Of course there is also the financial reason :) Scrapbooking isn't as famous here as in the US. There is a local craft store where I could buy some things but of course there are no bargains available. Ebay or other online shops would also always be a posibility but I prefer to actually look at things before I buy them. So what I do with my potographs is I put them in a regular album for photographs and sometimes add some stickers or draw something. Of course I also add some journaling.

@ M-C and Lorilee (or anybodyelse interested): If you have any questions concerning my country, I would be happy to answer them. Germany is really beautiful and there is certainly more to it then the "Oktoberfest" and "Lederhosen". Sometimes it seems that people reduce Germany to that. We do have beautiful castles and landscapes, big (multicultural) cities and small villages, historical sights and buildings, a coastline and mountains and a lot of other stuff. So, there are many things to see and get to know.

Welcome to the group Susanne! I hope in time you will feel a part of our group, family. I have never visited Germany but my husband and his family lived there, his Dad was in the Army. My brother and his family have been to Germany several times. They LOVE it there. He and his wife went there for part of their honeymoon. He absolutely loved the castles and the small villages. They were so in awe of how nice everyone was. They took their 5 y/o daughter there this past Christmas. I would love to visit sometime.

Sounds like when you have the space you'll start scrappin' in great frenzy! I would continue to journal that way if you ever decide to scrap those pictures differently you'll have your thoughts written down and won't have to rely on memory (which tends to go with age! LOL).

Susanne, My brother lived in Germany for three years while he was in the Air Force. Of all the places he lived during his years in service, he has always said your country was the most beautiful. He is also an amateur photographer. I love to go through his albums and look at all of the places he visited while he was there. Sandy

Where in Germany are you? I was in the Army and stationed there three times!! I loved the country and have tons of km's in Volksmarching to prove it!! That was the way to see the country and meet the people!! I still have a few good friends ovr there that I keep in touch with around the Stuttgart area.

And Sandy, if you would ever come my way, I literally have a ton of pics that I took over there. As i said, I ALWAYS had a camera with me all my life!!!

So from me to you Suzanne Welcomme!

You certainly don't have a problem with English, Suzanne! I never really thought you would as most Europeans learn two languages besides their own in school and English is often one of those two! I am sure that we would not think you impolite for not speaking small talk with us.

I myself am a Canadian living in the US. I have a wonderful husband how teaches at the law school here and a son who lives in Florida. Once I catch my breath and settle down somewhere for more than one or two years at a stretch, I'll start the paperwork to also get US citizenship. I am also a Belgian citizen since my parents were still Belgians when I was born. While I did live in Europe/Paris for a year a long time ago, I was never able to go to Germany. But both my husband and my ex-husband visited Germany. They both said it was absolutely beautiful. It has always been one of my dreams to visit your country.

I hope that you will continue to talk to us from time to time about how scrapbooking is doing in your country and also about your beautiful country! Where is Saxony? Is it somewhere near the French border? I'm wondering since we often hear of the Saxons in both French and Brittish history.

Thanks for your welcom!

I'm glad that your brother and his family liked it so much here in Germany and hope you will ever be able to visit my country too.

I'm just waiting to become let loose. :)

One day I will visit Germany! Just have to let the tightwad I call a Dear Husband let loose of some money! LOL He would like to visit as well, just being 6feet 6inches tall makes him a little nervous, he does not like the idea of being smooshed on a long plan ride. But I'm working on him!

Please keep us posted on how scrapbooking is progressing in your country. It is always interesting to see how the trends in other countries are verses the US.

The name of the city I live in is Chemnitz. You might not have been in my area (Erzgebirge, which is famous for it's wood craft) depending on the time you were stationed in Germany. Chemnitz (formerly Karl-Marx-Stadt) used to be in the East-German part.
