My younger Sis and family need your prayers. Their house burned Thursday. They have nothing left..even the few pics that survived are water damaged. Fortunately, DH was home and got the 2 dogs out.

Glad to hear everyone (including the pets) are safe. I love your sister's sense of humor, but I'm so sorry they're going through this. It seems like too many people this year - with floods, hurricanes, tornados, fires - have been faced with the loss of everything they own. I can't imagine having to start from scratch again. I'm sending prayers that they'll be getting back to a somewhat normal life as quickly as possible.
Hugs and prayers are on their way to your Sis and her family. What a devistating thing to have happened. I'm glad your Sis has such a good sense of humor - It, and everyone's prayers, will help them get through this.

Do I dare ask for quilt squares? I've a good start on a "Country Quilt" with serious help from 2 RCTQ'ers that will go to the HS Senior DNiece (Hers are every thing from 4 1/2" 6 1/2", 8 1/2"and 12 1/2") She is into horses and they live out in the country. The other DNiece is away at college (I'm drawing a blank on her Major)..and then my DSis and BIL would need one. If any of you want to send squares to me....I'll put them together.....I'd need someone(s) to quilt them. Do I dare ask for ASAP???? I'd love to have the Country Quilt under the Christmas tree.....theirs will be pretty bare this year. They own the local Hallmark store. Our usual 6.5" square. Please sign Name and City/State/& or Country as they wouldn't know you by your online siggy.

Do you want plain squares of fabric or blocks? Let us know and then someone can send out your address to the rest of us who would like to help. Specify the colors you would like to have so things are coordinated a little bit. I'm so sorry this has happened.
The Country Quilt has plain patterned 4 1/2" squares and the rest are country color blocks from 6 1/2" to 12 1/2". DN 2 may like brightly colored as she is in college (I'll have to find out if she is in a dorm or in an apt) DS liked the Victorian Era, so deep colors and cream would probably suit her best. I hadn't been in their new home. Totally missed them on our summer trip. Thanks Butterfly (I'll try emailing you my addy right now. If you don't get it--I misinterpreted your email)

I got your email. Are you looking for fabric with horses? I'm not quite understanding what the Country Quilt needs. I know I AM having one of those days where nothing seems to be sinking in well.....ask DH...he'll tell you! Maybe Kate G. can get the low down and we can enlist the huggers into action.

The Country Quilt has: house with tree by it , barn with silo, pine trees, apples, hearts, stars, wonky stars, Flying Geese, tulips, HST, Square in a Square, Pinwheels, 4-patches, 2 patches, bow-tie, spools, Attic Window
81/2" square that has a line of 'stores' "Quilts, Antiques, Cards, Flower shop. Looks like you are standing across the street from them. IF you have a nice 61/2" square of horses fabric, I'd appreciate that as they won a number of horse ribbons from the 'shows' that they participated in. They also won: 4-H, Clothing, and other Fair ribbons I'll need to find the 4-H pattern for one of the squares. Their dogs are a Whippet and a Poodle (white fur)HTH Butterfly (Most of my days are usually that way : ) I still can't type teh correctly)
