we need talking!...Now

My teenager just got her first job this week - at Dairy Queen and is in seventh heaven. Why do they think working in fast food is so great and they won't lift a finger at home............

Both DD and DS are out on spring break this week and we're trying to get some rearranging of furniture and cleaning done. About half of the daycare is gone to Florida or Grandma's so it's pretty quiet here.

Thank goodness both of our cats are fixed......

April is going to be a batty month for us.

We move on the 15th ish.

Easter is inbetween.

Sarah turns 4 on the 25 -- sheesh 4 already.

We go on vacation on the 29th.

so shuffled between everything is packing, unpacking and luggage.

OK let's talk turkey... I'm not kidding turkey or should I say a roving band of wild mean attacking turkeys. My son has been attacked by them on his bike several times. We chuckled and said pedal faster. I've been chased into the house by the 2 Toms cause I wasn't sure what they were going to do to me. BUT Monday was the final straw. My 17 1/2 year son was walking to a friends house to help them move when he got acosted by the 2 Toms. He said they came up behind him and clawed, scratched and try to peck him. He hit them, kicked them, tried to out run them, finally dodged in and out of traffic to see if they'd lose interest, but them kept coming. Finally a mom he knew was driving by and told him to get into her car and she drove him past the turkeys.

I called Fish and Game and they are going to get me in contact with a "biologist". Then I have to get a predadation permit to have them trapped and relocated. Still haven't gotten a call back from either biologist I left messages for. Today I came home and right in front of my house was a school boy about 14-15 fighting off the turkeys again. He kept swinging his back pack at them and they wouldn't let up. He too, got into a car that slowed down and let him in.

I think if there was a child about 10 and under they wouldn't be able to fight them off. Not sure what kind of damage they'd do.

I know it sounds silly being attacked by turkeys, but when you're being attacked it's not so funny.

That's the only exciting thing going on here.

yea today i have a completed ramp on my porch...it took 3 days for them to make it and now life is going to be so much easier for me and my dog..hahaha chatty cathy

Well, my boys are home this week on spring break. We took a vacation to TN. The weather was wonderful. I haven't been scrapping in a couple weeks. Just a little stressed at home. It's busy season for my husband with our business. He works on Lawn, Garden and Tractor equipment. Every one wants their lawn mowers tuned up now. Still not ready to mow for a couple of weeks.

LOL I feel your pain.

shoot it pluck it and VIOLA!! next Thanksgivings Dinner in the freezer!...lol

I keep threatening to do that. In fact they chase me into my yard again I've got a weapon ready now. I won't purposely try to kill one, but if they don't leave me allow after a few whacks with my stick they're dinner.

No problems here Shannon. I'm finding it very informative to hear what's going on with everyone. I'm sorry you're having a hard time, but like you said it's the cycle of your husbands job. Sound like things will start looking up. I know when we find out our lawnmower needs a tuneup there is a long waiting list, because everyone's needs a tune-up.

We had a stray cat that was pregnant and brought her litter to live in my bushes. I felt so sorry for them, but they were as wild as a tiger and acted like it. It was so cute to see these tiny kittens acting like they'd rip my head off if I can any closer.

My son just helped a friend move. Can't get him to push a vacuum without threats.

Sandy- they like it because its cool to have t heir own money that they didnt have to earn by doing chores at home...I dont get it either!! I offered my son $20 bucks one time when I was really sick, if he would just wash the dishes for me. Twenty bucks for maybe 2o minutes of dishes..He refused. Now he has a job where he works 50 hours a week and loves it. Go figure!! Linda

Shannon..(((hugs))) I know its hard these days with the economy the way it is. I am getting hardly any extra cake orders at home, and I miss the extra money. I feel bad that you are having such a bad time of it. Don't feel sorry for sharing with your friends..thats what friends are for and everyone needs to unload once in a while. I know how you feel about insurance and medical bills. Its a never ending cycle!! I can understand why you are feeling the way you do. What is IBS? I am trying to figure it out..but I am stumped! Thanks for your thoughts Linda. IBS is irritable bowel syndrome. Certain foods or stress really bothers my stomache. Terrible pains and running for the bathroom all the time if you get my point.
