Scrap question!!!!

Hello everyone!

I have a question. How much would you pay for a fully completed scrapbook with like diecuts, stickers etc. I have seen people go up to 300.00$ and even

1000.00! I think 1000.00 is crazy! lol reply back!!!!

If I understand your question, my opinion is...yes it would be fun, but scrapbooking supplies get expensive sometimes. I guess if some one wanted me to do their scrapbook that wasn't family then I might just tell them to pay for the supplies used in their scrapbook and keep a list of what I used. Like if I used 2 diecuts from a pkg of 10 for $1.00 then their charge would be 20c. If it is stuff I really don't care about or is extras I might never use then I won't charge. If it is family then you might say free or if they insist then just tell them something to make them happy like "ok I'll do it for $10". You might need the $10 for something in the scrapbook you don't have in your collection of scraping items.... so it all boils down to "WHATEVER!!!!"....... you have to live with your decisions...... but make it fun ones!!!

NM and TX have a "service" and make albums for people.. they charge by the page.. something like.. plain and simple with a space for you to journal is 3-5 bucks.. really awsome pages range from 15-30.. pricey.. but if you like someones style i guess its ok...

the tough part of this is that we're all folks who love to scrapbook anyway, so the very idea of this is a bit nuts in our opinion. But there are people who simply don't wish to get involved in yet another project, for whatever reason, or lack the confidence to do it. I know, I know, it's hard to believe that someone wouldn't just automatically love this, but they are out there. My mom is one of them. She saw my books and while shopping found a scrapbook that fits my brother perfectly, but has no desire to start this hobby too and wants me to do it with pics she has.

I know about the time issue myself. I love to garden so in the summer I garden, in the winter when the gardens are asleep, I have more time to scrap. Either season, the time is limited as I work full time from 3pm to

11pm and don't have a designated work area so it has to be hauled and put away each time. Some folks don't ever have the luxury of time.or the luxury of space.

I also have a friend who has just started a project doing scrapbooks for others. Yes it is very expensive to have her do it for you, but she does wonderful work, is very creative, and spends lots of time getting the information right for the journaling and such. and uses top notch supplies. She works with a lot of heritage photos and such so IMO there is a bit of risk involved too. She has experience handling these memories and how to protect them and that to me is worth a bit as well. There are different levels of 'attention' as well, so there are choices to some extent in regard to what you would be charged. Would I pay for the service? Most likely not now, but I scrap too. If I didn't? Yeah, I might.

It all boils down to how much you want a scrapbook, and what you are willing to do for one. Options are out there beyond doing the project yourself.

Now I personally, don't think that I would ever pay for a fully completed scrapbook. Half the fun is doing it yourself and journaling it. What does some stranger know about you and your family and all of your memories. But if I did, I myself would not want to pay more than $100.00. I can imagine that there are people out there, who would pay to have it done though.

Personally I think it's ridiculous to pay for someone else to do your albums, but I also know that there are plenty of people out there who do. Jalei is always busy working on someone elses album it seems. I'm sure I couldn't do one for someone else either. If I'm not personally involved w/ the subject matter I don't think I could enjoy working on the lo's.

If I didn't scrap for myself and I wanted some of my pages done, with some simple diecuts and stickers, I'd pay maybe 2.00 a page for the finished page. I realize the scrap book and the pages would be an extra charge. Ckk
