Using bottle caps

I have a question about using bottle caps! I have seen them in my LSS,and they are very cute! I would like to cut some costs by making them myself. Where do you find products that have bottlecaps anymore? Beer bottles? So many things are plastic now! What kinds of things can you do with them, also? (I did read about flattening them with the Sizzix) Thanks Linda C Illinois

Hi.

I just used regular metal bottle caps (we were at a picnic and asked for them from my friend who looked at me funny) but I just rolled my car over them (pointy side down of course).

Worked for me. LOL

I'll have to try that. Sounds much easier than using a hammer. Just line them up in a row and drive away. Thanks.

LOL... now that is a first...squished with your car????? Inventive...I'm not sure that much pressure was required, but it sure was good for a laugh this afternoon!

But M-C it worked much faster and less noise wouldn't you say?

Still laughing... I'm sure it was faster... more quiet...well...probably if you have a well tuned car and the radio wasn't blasting....

I can imagine the neighbors (especially that pesky nosy neighbor everyone seems to have) looking out their windows as you line "something" up in back of your car, get in, drive 2-3 ft down the driveway, then 2-3 ft up the driveway get out, go back behind the car, bend down to pry the things off the driveway, straighten up and with all the dignity in the world, walk back into your house chuckling!

I can't help it...it's funny!

I buy my bottle caps on ebay by the 100 (and share with friends). usually get them for around 2-3 cents each after shippping. They are unused coke caps. My son also saves me caps from wine coolers and they work just as well - they are a tad smaller than the coke ones, but that makes them cute. I usually paint the used ones. Sandy

There is a QuicKutz die set to cut them out of paper and such.

LOL This reminds me of something that happened during camping when I was little. My Mom's friend used to crush her crackers in plastic bag by driving over them repeatedly with her car. My mother just laughed and laughed at her when she saw what she was doing!!!( Ithink she was using the crumbs for meatloaf or something..lol)

Hey whatever works!!! Linda C Illinois
