Where do I Start?

Question

Hi, I'm new to this group and was wondering if anyone could direct me to a place that could give me examples on scrapbooking ideas with lots of newspaper clippings. Specifically, sports write-ups, box scores, etc. Is it better to copy these on a color copier first and scrapbook from there (they yellow so quickly), etc., etc. Layout ideas would be great too. I have 3 years of high school sports I need to start scrapbooking and not sure how/where to start. Thanks in advance for any advice. Kelli from So Calif

The main thing is to keep everything acid free. There is a lot of acid in newspaper so the copier is a good idea or laminating is also a great option too.  There is also a spray on the market to neutralize the acid in news clipping but it can be pretty expensive.The best way to get into the hobby with layout ideas is to get a good magazine from your local craft stores.  Some favorites with this group are PaperKuts, Creating Keepsakes, Memory Makers and Simple Scrapbooks.   They all have websites too.   also has great ideas although the website is pretty slow.Hope this helps answer your questions.Jacqui

2peas is slow if you have dialup, but otherwise it rocks! There are TONS of layouts.. and if you use keywords you can narrow them down....With newspaper clippings, I like the old look so I laminate them... even if they totally disintigrate (i can't spell) the lamination keeps it all together....  welcome to the group!
