Need Ideas

Oct 23, 2003 4 Replies

I am putting together a scrapbook for my BF for his 30th b-day. (which happens to be a little less than a year away) His mother gave me everything...I mean a ton of news paper clippings from sports, report cards etc. tee hee... I even have is baby book.

Ok now for the idea part. I need help w/ organizing the newspaper clippings. I was thinking about incorporating a little flip book for each season of sporting activities so I could include all the articles but not have 50 scrapbook full. First, does anyone else have any ideas on including several articles on a page? Second, does anyone know how to make a flip book?

Hopefully this makes sense.

First, does anyone else have any ideas on including several articles on a page?

You could start by finding the article or any pics that someone had taken of the event. Also could gather the article of a particular sport then embellish around that. PP would bring it all together, diecuts would also. Stickers perhaps if you can find some to go along with the event.

I don't know how to make a flip book.

-You can photo copy several of them and make a background.

-Place them on tags that can be pulled out of a pocket.

-Fold a piece of cardstock in half or a couple and punch two whole then tie with a ribbon . Then stick the back page to the layout. That sort of gives you book to put some articles on.

-You can make a pocket .

rather than include the entire articles why not scan them onto the pc and then using word create background paper using the scanned clippings - if you then put photographs of the events on top of the background paper leaving enough background paper so that you could read snippets of the articles and maybe highlight his name in the background paper - it would look like newspaper background paper if you know what I mean - I'm not sure I am describing this well though.

Those are all great ideas. Thanks! I would have never thought of those. I am going to print them out for reference this weekend.
