Lots of new pages!

Ok, since I showed my older nephew the book I made about my trip to visit his little brother, he said he wanted a scrapbook all about him. So, I found a whole bunch of pictures. The latest one is just a couple of weeks ago, and they're in roughly chronological order.

Oh, some explanation may be required for page 11, the one that says "here comes trouble." That was his Halloween costume a few years ago, and it's from an episode of Doctor Who, the new series, called "The Empty Child." It's totally creepy.

Your pages are awsome and the pictures are just to funny! Luna, are you the one that posted not that along ago that your pages weren't that great? Girl! You need to look at those pages again. They are awsome, I love it! The paper and embellishments and the sayings you used are perfect. What a lucky nephew to have an aunt that scraps and not only that an aunt!

I feel like I'm getting better at it, thanks! I took the advice of someone on here (forgot who, sorry!) about inking the edges of the pics, and I think that really added something nice.

I also decided to stop being such a snob about themed kits, ("Oh, I've been crafting since I was a toddler, I surely should be able to pick out my own coordinating papers or make my own, not have to rely on those kits for people who have no talent, blah blah blah") Well, screw it. Now I buy paper packs, kits, and stickers where everything matches. Finding each individual element on its own is hard, darnit! Of course, I will mix and match kits when I want to. These papers, stickers, letters, etc. are mainly from Deja Views Sharon Ann Little Ones Collection, but a few papers from Hot Off the Press's "Boys To Men" paper pack, which I had left over from the farm scrapbook.

These pages are fabulous Luna! I love the papers and the pics are so cute :D What a great scrapbook to make. I love kits. It takes the work out of scrapping and really helps out when I don't have that much time or creative spark :)

What a beautiful scrapbook. Your pages are wonderful. How did you get the photos on page 3 - days of wonder - to look like bubbles? The paper is perfect for every page and they just blend into each other. Love the dryer shot. Thanks for sharing, Sandy

I need to find that set. It coordinates beautifully. Sandy

Thanks! I used Photoshop to do the bubbles. If you have it, or if anyone else is interested, I can tell you how I did it, or you can google "Photoshop bubbles tutorial" to find lots of different methods.

I got it at Michaels. Both sets, actually. Most of the stuff is from that Deja Views set, but this is the stuff from the Boys to Men one:

The blue and black striped paper on page 1 and 11 The blue diamonds on page 2, 4, and 5 The red with blue stars on page 10 The black on page 11, and the blue squares on page 11 The green I used for matting on pages 7, 8, 12, and 13 The striped paper on page 14

All the embellishments are either punch outs that came with the Deja Views kit, or stickers from their "All Boy" sticker tablet. Hope you find the stuff you need!

I for one am so sick of boy stuff now, and really craving some pink and glitter, but I don't have any nieces. :o(

Wonderful pages. Now I know who to talk to about Photoshop! ;) I have wanted to play around with the software but just haven't found the time yet. The bubbles go well with the page. Product kits do make it a little easier to pull pages together but there is definitely room for creativity with them (as you have shown us!).

Great job on the scrapbook. Your nephew should be really proud of his book!

Oh, it's totally fun and amazing. There are lots of tutorials online too, but I'll be happy to help if you need it.

Thanks!

Thanks, yeah. There are still plenty of decisions to make, but not as much staring at the open stock paper at Michaels and trying to figure out what to buy. I just want to get to the cutting and glueing part already, you know?

Thanks, I hope so! I'm redoing a bit of one of the pages tonight, I'll post in a little while in this thread when I get it uploaded.

Ok, I changed page 11 a bit, made an embellishment I think goes better with the page. That one's difficult, because most of the book is cute, but this character is supposed to be very scary, but he's still cute. The costume is from Doctor Who, and something about that blue and black grid paper just makes me think "sci-fi" but I don't know why. Anyway, I scanned that paper and tried to make a matching title graphic in Photoshop, but it ended up being lighter when I printed it, but I think I'm ok with it.
