Completely OT poison sumac

I hope it gives her quick relief, Ron. Those items are all "on the shelf" in most pharmacies. This is the time of year for zinc oxide, too, as many people use it on their nose when out in the sun. It predates "SPF" products. Aquaphor is with the creams and ointments like Vaseline. Burow's is also sold as Domeboro solution, and I've always found it on the shelf in any pharmacy, even the ones in the grocery store. Best of luck in her search for relief!

1-2-3 ointment? what is that? where does one get it? I have had some luck with my excema when I cut down on meat products while on a diet, but sometimes get flareups.

thanks Liz

1-2-3 ointment is the name for the mixture of Aquaphor, zinc oxide and Burow's Solution. Since a book came out a few years ago, it's sometimes called Rosen's Ointment. However, this mixture has been used for many years, long before hydrocortisone became available without prescription.

Just mix 3 parts of Aquaphor, 2 parts zinc oxide, and 1 part (or less) of Burow's Solution thoroughly and put into a clean jar for storage. I measure by eye, and it seems to work out all right. I do my mixing on a tile with a plastic knife or a wooden stick like a tongue depressor or Popsicle stick.

Perhaps in a City or somewhere with a large pharmacy. I am in a tiny town that just got a new pharmacy. A young couple purchased the general store and they are both pharmacists so now there is a pharmacy with in 10 miles. Never have to wait more than 1 business day.

Ah, small town life. ;-) Well, I'm still hoping it does the trick, no matter what hoops you have to jump through to get the ingredients.

Thank you. Have you heard about the vs. ISPs caving into the NYS AGs and discontinuing USENET? I'm too mad to post about it right now. Your suggestion is just one of the losses.

I don't know what you are referring to, but my own ISP discontinued carrying news groups some years ago, to my chagrin, and I now get access through another server. Fortunately, there are still a lot of free and inexpensive servers that give us access.

I don't mind paying for my ISP service, in fact I don't mind paying for any service I use. If I'm prepared to pay for the wine I drink why not parking/petrol/news services ...

No, and if a person was willing and able to pay, there are countless connections available. But for those who are on tight budgets and abandoned by their ISP, there are still alternatives that are free of charge. The governor of a state is not able to shut down the world.

He shouldn't be able to. But politicians all over the world do like to be in control of as much as they can even when it's nopne of their business.

On tight budgets, it could be argued that if one can afford the hardware ... :-)

I have given computers to several people who didn't have money to buy their own. I have replaced mine while it was still fully functional, so it made sense to pass along the hardware to someone who could benefit. I even gave a Commodore 64 to a man I encountered in a thrift shop -- he was in a wheelchair, disabled, but liked to program and the C- 64 was good for what he wanted to do. The difficult part is finding free internet access. Juno has their limited service still.
