Flannel Quality and Sources

I hadn't sewn with flannel for awhile and recently had bad luck with several lengths I bought at Joann's--- lots of weaving faults, warped fabric, and way uneven plus too much shrinkage (from too loose a weave and poor quality control). I looked at their flannel again a couple days ago and discovered that most of it was that way... ick!

So I'm wondering if there are better sources for (non-baby) flannel, perhaps online? Has the quality of flannel degraded generally or is Joann's just buying particularly lousy goods? I'm afraid to buy from Fabric.com since they sent me 2 different lengths of poly/cotton interlock that was supposed to be all cotton per their web site. TIA.

I've ordered several fabrics from eQuilter.com and so far have never had a problem. This is my own experience with them, but I have never heard of them selling anything except excellent fabric. Emily

My eQuilter fabric has also been excellent, in both quality of fabric and of service. Hm... Must order from them again! :)

just Joanns, I think.

I don't have a specific source at the moment, but if you find flannel from Portugal, it won't disappoint. JPBill
