Guide to opening up waist band on trousers?

Dec 22, 2005 1 Replies

Hi All,

Probably a little less hardcore than the usual stuff here, but.... I'd like to open up the waistband on a pair of dark wool trousers - how does one go about doing this?

The extra material seems to be folded back in on itself and the lining that goes over the inside of the waistband is covering this material and I can't see any obvious stitches to unstitch!

Not overly experienced at doing this so any guidance would be great.

Thanks,

tk

Is this the center back seam? Or are you wanting to remove the waistband from the pants?

Try looking at it in an extremely bright light (ideally from a lamp that you can adjust to illuminate the fabric). You might need to pull the seam or waistband open to see stitches.

My mama always said, don't rip out stitching after dark.
