Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope everyone in the US has a Great Thanksgiving on Thursday! There is just my DH & me so we will go out to eat. But this morning as we were grocery shopping I picked up a sugar free pumpkin pie for desert! It will be a great day for us! Barbara in Central Florida

Wishing all a wonderful family celebration.

I am joining my family (we rotate Thanksgiving between three hosts) for a glorious day of spirited conversation, good food and joy.

I'm packed up to go to my sister's house in the morning, bearing Yoder mashed potatoes, hard-boiled eggs dunked in a can of pickled beets, and eggs I devilled this morning.

I hope somebody brings sweet potatoes.

Happy Feasting to everyone!! I'm heading out to my sister-in-law's house in a few hours and I'm taking a ham as well as a mocha icebox pie. I baked the ham and the Kitchenaid mixer and I both made the dessert.

My niece did, simply cut up and baked with pecans and a little maple syrup sprinkled on top.

I brought a serving home.

Yes, I hope you all had a peaceful Thanksgiving. I could imagine that it, just as Christmas or any other family holiday, holds a lot of potential for family arguments. Soaring expectations make you crash all the harder. Well, not in your families, I suppose, since you all seem to lead a very balanced family life, but still, I could imagine that the news are full of according reports. Here, you get that wave at Christmas. Anyway, a bit of gratitude would do very well for all of us who have a home... ;-)

Many years ago we all would get together at my grandmother's sister's house, with her 3 adult children and the grandchildren. One of the 3 would always show up late and so afterward tha daughter was informed that the next year we were going to eat at a certain time and if they were not on time, they were welcome to eat what was left over. They were always on time afterwards. Other than that, everyone got along fine! Or they didn't show up to join the rest. Barbara in SC
