Help me name this part

Ok, so I'm really hoping that someone out there can help me. My girlfriend has had a Singer No.15 with a cabinet around the house since I've known her. It was her grandmothers. Well, for her birthday coming up, I decided to surprize her and completely refinish the entire cabinet from and get the machine back up and running. Everything is going pretty well, except there has always been a piece missing from the machine.

So, what I need help on, is this. What is the sliding silver cover piece, next to the throat plate, called? I assume it slides anyway to allow for access under the needle. I just need the name to I can check ebay or wherever.

Thanks so much for the help. Jon

Is it the bit you slide away to get at the bobbin for insertion? Then it's just called a 'slide plate'. You can download a manual for it here:

it's the bit that covers the feed dogs and has the hole the needle goes through in it, it's usually known as the needle plate or stitch plate. Parts numbers for both should be in the manual.
