hem-prevent

I hemed a cotton ridged shirt for my boyfriend, it came out funny and kinda curled up where the stitching was. How can that be prevented? Seems like the material started to stretch out while using my Brothers machine and Just ended up making the shirt look ridggy and girly. Please help!

Thanks, Jenn

I think that if you bond the hem first, use something like stitch witchery, then sew it that should not happen. You have to treat it the same as if it were a knit if it's that stretchy. Can you take out the original stitching and shrink the hem with steam pressing/ Then start over again. Juno
