Machine feet

Hi, I'm Debby.

I have a Viking Daisy 325. If I remove the plastic ankle for the clip on feet, can I use other machine feet? If yes, is my machine a low shank or a high shank?

Thanks!

If I'm not mistaken, that's one of the recent Vikings with a low shank. If you remove the plastic clip you can install the bias binder, dual feed, ruffler, stippling and darning feet on it. Otherwise, you can use Viking snap-on presser feet (with the ankle attached). If you're inquiring about using other *brands* of presser feet, I was told anything up to a 6mm foot would work, but you'd need to try it out. HTH

Thanks! I have an old singer 15-91. I'll try one of those feet. The Viking feet are so expensive!!!

But well worth it! I have about 32 HV ones now... and 3 rufflers! One for each sewing machine!

It's a low shank (I have a Lily 550), so low shank feet should fit, but I advise using the screw that came with your machine for fixing them. You may find that after using Viking feet, generic feet feel nasty and cheap! But if you have old Singer (or similar) feet that are nice and sturdy, you'll be OK... BTW, watch out for the feed dogs not being in the right place for some of those feet.
