new to me online fabric store

I found these guys on Facebook. ;) The site is easy to navigate, but it's not anything fancy. That's fine with me. I ordered:

I ordered it last Friday and it came today. 6 day turn around is pretty good. Shipping was reasonable. The linen is very nice. It's in the washer now. :) It's a very nice weight. I'm not sure why it's listed as "softened." It's not starched, but it feels like new linen usually does.

And! There was a card for a 7% discount on my next order tucked into the box. :)

For a first purchase, I was very pleased. I would order from them again.

And now that I have enabled you all, I am off to make beds and load the dishwasher. lol

Lovely color! What are you planning to make with it?

I'm so easy going that our children suggest that somebody ought to follow me around and pick up the loose parts. Hard to annoy me. Really. But - when a fabric store lists its prices by half-yards, it puts me on Red Alert. The only reason, methinks, that they would do that is to lure you into buying a fabric at a good price and then realize that the price was actually double. Just a cranky pants opinion. Please don't let my grumpy old elderly notion keep you from showing us any other good places to shop. It's one of my favorite indoor sports and I'm always eager to see a place I might have missed. While I understand your argument, and am annoyed by stores that sell by half or quarter yards, I'm not sure why you mention this in a thread about . Their prices *are* by the yard, unless you're buying a pre-cut piece.

Glad you posted, Jenn. It did seem to me last night that the prices were given in half-yards and going back this morning, they were priced at full yards. ( My blood pressure med says "may cause confusion" and you can bet that's true.) ? Polly

Thanks. I really loved that color. This is my favorite skirt right now View C

That's probably what I will do with it. I did that skirt twice before we went on vacation. One is a light weight navy linen/rayon blend with embroidered outlines of roses in white scattered on it. I did all the topstitching (at the waist, yoke and hem) in white on that one. Turned out cute. Really fun with a tee and flip flops. I call it a "running around" skirt. But it can get dressed up with wedge heels and a nicer shirt. The other was a quilting cotton in a turquoise. It was the last of a bolt at Hancock's and it had been discontinued. So I got the last 2 1/2 yards of it for $1.77/yd. Woot!!!! Also very fun with flip flops and a tee. Although, it doesn't dress up as well as the linen blend. But that's OK. ;)

Nice pattern! And, if you made view "A" you might even call it "kilting".

You first. Let me know how much help Charlie is able to provide when you make up that gorgeous purplish linen. ;-P

He's LOTS of help!!! My sewing room has never, while under his watch, been invaded by squirrels or meter readers. I know you are impressed. ;)

I am very impressed, who knew we needed to guard against meter readers.

My sewing room faces the back of the house, and I have been known to leave the blind up when doing fittings. Once shocked a meter reader on his rounds. ;-}

You need a cat like my Quin. She growls at the meter reader. And anyone else she sees in the backyard. She's a watchcat.

Ming Tu would lick them to death, wagging his tail the entire time....
