not moving means more sewing!!

Yep, it really does! SInce things didn't work out with the house (all for the better, I assure you), I actually have found that I have more time to get things done around here, including the sewing that was put on hold!!!

So far, since we took the house off the market, I have made DS 3 more pairs of sweatpants (I *love* this stage, where he tells me that the things I make him are "way better" than the things in the store), finally gotten the pattern cut out for the 3-year long renaissance outfit (3 years because it's going to take me that long to get all the materials gathered, and research exactly how the clothing was fastened...want to make it as close to "real" as possible), dug out the summer fabrics and patterns for Rebekah and started cutting pattern pieces, and done some mending that was waiting for me. Phew! Oh, did i mention that I'm ahead on laundry?? Yep, everybody has a nearly empty hamper now, so I should be laundry-free for about 4 more days, which means even more time for sewing!!

DH spent the weekend straightening the garage and getting other work done that *he* needed to do (not that I couldn't, but he considers the garage his domain...whatever), we will be working together to get the rest of the trim in the house painted, he will be cutting the last piece of trim for our bedroom, and all during this, we are getting other major things done around the house (but I still have lots of sewing time!). This morning, the crew ripped out our old driveway and will be filling it with rock later today, in preparation for new asphalt and such. Later this month, the fence will be going in around our back yard (YEA!!! The children will have a safe place to play since it's getting warmer), and we are hunting a decent storage shed for DH, and considering what size addition we want added for my sewing space/craft area. BUt....I still get more sewing time!! MOst of this is just thinking things out, which I can do while sewing, but not while trekking all over the place doing house nonsense...lol

So, this weeks plans are to get the sheets fro DSs bed and our bed washed and dried, get some summer outfits cut out for DD, and not freak out as the dumptruck pulls back up in front of my house (which it just did...lol). After DDs outfits, I will be trying to make some decent fitting pants for myself as well as a nice flowy blouse.

After that, who knows....woohoo! Oh yeah, and we have a birthday party on the 23rd, real birthday on the 25th, and DH goes for his VA evaluation on the 26th (please say a prayer, DH broke his back twice while in teh Navy, with luck they will give him at least 50% disability).

SO that's it.....changes in plans *CAN* be a good thing!!
