Old Chenille

Bear with me - I'm quite slow and have little imagination.

I've seen at least one discussion about using vintage fabrics. Now, looking on eBay for a replacement for a vintage chenille bedspread, I see many old bedspreads being sold as "cutters." I gather that to mean "suitable for cutting up and using for other things."

I have an affinity for chenille, even though it is a cat fur magnet.

What could I make from a cut up old bedspread?

I doubt that!!! Off the top of my head I think Bathrobe or "sweats" for lounging......or as cornice box covers in your bedroom........

A lot of people are making children's clothing using chenille bits and pieces. Look at some of the boutique clothing on eBay. It sells very well. Who knew those old bedspreads would be fodder for clothing makers along the way?

Vermont Country Store carries chenille bedspreads, new reproductions of the old styles, in solids & a multicolor flowerbasket design... although a vintage one on eBay might be less expensive (then again, it might not last too long either)

Jacket? Did she say jacket? With the pattern that it has, that might look cool...or else it would look stupid. 'Tis a fine line sometimes. :)
