old T-shirts a pillow filling?

I've got about 40 old T-shirts, red, blue, green, some white. It was a donation of a friend of mine, her house has to be cleaned and she ment I'm a creative girl, who can use them properly.

BUT What to do with them?

  1. cut them in smal pieces and use them as a filling for a pillow?
  2. donation
3 a quilt

or something else, another sound advice?.

Bronwyn, thanks for the fabulous links to the T-shirt panties and quilts! The T-shirt quilts I've seen before were uninspiring and saggy, to say the least, but the ones with sashing are great. DD has loads of cherished T-shirts that she no longer wears - I'm going to start squirrelling them away so she can have a quilt when she leaves home.

Bronwyn, thanks! I think, the best solution is to make panties, both for me and my hubby. I've tried it before, but they 've got too BLOITED or hoity-toity(is this english? i have to look in my vocabulary) It is sure, the quality has to be just stretch in both directions.. not every T-shirt has this. Anyway, maybe the front has to be made by elastic(lycra) lace :-) only for me, not for DH of course. I will make pics, sure. Suzan
