Ping: Polly

When I was in WalMart the other day, strolling through their fabric dept., there was a small are with a display of a bib ( and Free Instructions) about making a bib out of some new ( to me) type of fabric you could just wipe off when the baby spills food on the bib. The printed bolts of fabric cost $10.00 and there were 5 of them with cute baby prints. The solid bolds were $8:00. They were already out of the instruction or I would have picked up one to send to you. I'll check in SC when I get back there in 2 more weeks if you are interested.

AWwwww. That sounds so precious. Is it okay here to mention that our great grandson who will turn one in just a week has learned to do "AWwwww" when he sees something precious? I'll have to pass on your offer of bibs project. The needy babies desperately need washable diapers. Stitching diapers bores me but good music and doing for the 'least of these' keeps me going. Their moms are using plastic shopping bags stuffed with cheap toilet tissue since they can't afford disposable diapers. I wish for you a safe and happy trip back home; thank you so much for thinking of me. Polly

It makes me feel good to know about all your sewing. Unfortunately, my health has been bad the past few years and it is all I can do to get the housework & mending done, and looking after DH who has asthma. The past couple of years I've stayed busy doing simple sewing for my granddaughter who will be 12 on July 3rd. I only see her once or twice a month during the summer and she likes for us to bake brownies or make candy (melted semi sweet chocolate mixed into granola.) During the winter I make a few baby blankets for the church charity, but I only make 2 or 3 a month. I stay very busy to feel so bad. Hope you have a good summer! Barbara

We can not hug them all, Barbara, but we will hug the ones we can. For your granddaughter, I see on my Bernina group that they are all involved in making before/after swim pants for their grands. It seems to be rather crazy - two different patterned cheap beach towels made with the cut that has no side/leg seam. Our own grands are too old/young for such but maybe a

12 year-old would be tickled. Polly

I just saw this post. If there are any of the bib fabric with Pooh Bear designs, I'd like to have some for the new addition to the family. Let me know; at which W-M do you shop in FL? I'll tell DD about it and she can go look. After all, she is the DGM. E-mail me what they have, please. Emily
