Postal GRRR! But I went fabric shopping in the loft, too!

I ordered a pile of fabric for a bridal project, from BL JOshi... The bill arrived today, in the post, but the fabric has yet to appear, so I phoned them. I had expected it on Wednesday. Verrrry puzzled they were: parcel went out Tuesday, on overnight delivery. Should have been here some time on Wednesday. So they chased it from their end, and got back a story that the parcel people had tried to deliver, and left me a card... Um, no, they haven't, I said. The only time I've been out this week was after 6:15 pm, to escort James to Judo on Tuesday (wouldn't have come then anyway, that was the day it was dispatched), and at 6:45 pm last night to go to Weight Watchers. Other than that, I haven't been out the door! I haven't been out in the garden at the back, either! No-one has called, and no card has been left. We are of the opinion that the idiots have left the card at the wrong address! Quite how is a puzzle... It's not like I live in a maze of twisty little streets, all looking the same! This is an isolated row of houses, numbered 1-14 from one end to the other.

They haven't lost the parcel this time: they've lost a large chunk of Kent!

*I* rang them, quoting the consignment number and everything, and got the same story, so I told them in NO uncertain terms that No, I have not been out at all this week, and No, no-one has left a card, and No, I have not even seen their van. Not only this, but the fabric wasn't here when it should have been for the customer to see when she was here, so she'll have to come back, incurring more expense of petrol and time (the lady who is to wear this dress has a sick hubby at home: type one diabetes, and on dialysis due to renal failure as a result of 40 years of it, and getting here from where she lives involves 3/4 of an hour drive each way and hubbysitting for her other half). I let them know that I was NOT PLEASED. I have polished off the Big Scary Teef just in case...

Meanwhile I went up the loft ladder (boy, is THAT easier now I'm 38.5 lbs lighter! ;P ) on a fabric hunt, and I have AT LAST cut out some trousers that I should have had made long ago! I also found some fabric I got ages ago for making toiles of things like trousers and skirts... James described it as SWAMP GREEN, which is about right! Feels nice, but an ugly colour. It was dead cheap, too.
