Gingham is good: goes with just about everything except a formal drawing room!

Would love to get a hold of some affordable dupioni - I saw some magnificent gold/orange curtains on the home & garden show. It must be a combination of the wall color and lighting but those curtains gave the entire room this wondrous warm glow.

You need to se my friend Nel's drawing room and dining room combination. 18th C house with Very Tall rooms, and swags and tails at the windows, which are 12 ft tall! She's done them in a bronze 100% silk dupion. It's a shot silk, with bright gold in one direction and royal blue in the other, so while the over-all effect is bronze, the shadows are purple! She has a large print golden yellow wallpaper on the walls, and the combination is a warm yellow glow, whatever the weather.
The two rooms can be separated by lowering a partition between them - it works like a sash window - but when we are all there for New Year, the rooms are opened up and with additional tables, we sat down 26 for New Year's day lunch!
If you're in the States, try this site, for exactly what you're looking for, and at what I consider a pretty good price for dupioni:
