Stitchery-Doo Daah!

The big serger is still in the shop, but the little one is coping well with the Fabric From Hell sequined nightmare trim and cheap poly bridal satin!

I was a bit cheeky on Friday and bought another sewing machine. This one is a second Elna Lotus, and even better than the first! :) I have tried it out sewing some big 9 patches together for some quilted kitty blankets, and let it have a go at the sequins and satin stuff today: beautiful! :)

On top of the 99K!

The tally so far:

Treadle: 88-15, on the landing

99K: handcrank, sits under one end 1904 Jones hand crank: sits under the other end

Serger bench: usually has the 910 on it, and the 99 under it. The Lotus TSP will sit on top.

Lily bench: usually had the HV Lily 550 on it and the Viscount 2000 under it, with the New Home beside it.

The Featherweight sits down between to stacks with the Lotus ZZ on top.

The Cub 8 with the broken stitch selector goes up in the loft.

The Toyota serger lives in the bag on the old sewing box. At the moment it's on the bench while the 910 is in the shop for a service and a bit of TLC to keep it running a bit longer.

The New Home will get Freecycled or something to make room for the last two I really want: another Lotus (the Stella Air Electronic), and a Singer Rocketeer. :)

They are such cute little machines, and the kids love to use them when I go out and sew in school. I get to do that in a couple of weeks. Easter projects. :)

The Singer Rocketeer???!!! Isn't that the 500(x) model? Ugh, I have two I'm going to eBay or put on Craig's List. IMNSHO and frustrating exprience, they do not hold tension AT ALL. And it's not a question of servicing, because I have paid for a complete overhaul of both. I bought one for my DMIL many years ago, and the other (used) for myself. DD inherited the first one, she loathes it as well, I'm going to give her one of my 401a instead. I would not trade *one* 401a for TEN Rocketeers....

YMMV,

500A. I've never heard of a tension problem with them. Before you pitch them, try the folks on Wefixit. They may know how to fix the problem. If the tension mechanism is shot, you may be able to replace it. They were pretty standard tensions as far as I can see in various places, and someone on wefixit may have a donor machine.

LOL I'm sharing your tally with DH when he gets home tonight. He won't think I'm so out of control anymore. heh heh

Good for you for finding a "new" machine that is working well for you. Enjoy it.

......but do remember, when you have to start spraying them with Pam to get them squeezed in the house, it's time to stop......or buy a shed for the furniture. LOL

Sharon (needs 6 more to catch up with you)
