Thread for fringe?

Just ordered yummy velvet burnouts from equilter to make Christmas present scarves. Plan to finish with simple knotted fringe every ?1/4 inch - but what threads to use? Need bundle of threads to slink, rather than tangle. Suggestions? (delurking) Karen

inch - but

A high quality embroidery thread would probably work, and you should be able to match the color of the velvet very closely.

Luck,

I've used both silk and rayon hand embroidery thread, often 'perle' thickness, and they seem to be about the same for tangling. Silk gives a smoother finish, I would say. Both come in a wide range of colours, and the shaded ones are particularly nice.

The scarves sound lovely.
