Using strap elastic for edge finishing on bras?

Hi Gang,

I'm now working on Bra 4.0. I've managed to experiment with versions

2.0 and 3.0 and ... learned a lot about what not to do. (Like don't cut on the bias if the piece is structural, DUH.) I've taken to heart your recommendations for fabrics: current working version is using cream colored sateen finish cotton, some cute cream butterfly-embroidered organza, cream floral trim and organza lining the center gore and front frame. Haven't figured out where to get handkerchief linen, but I'm very interested for future ones.

Anyhow, after going to town purchasing Lace Heaven's plush elastics I realize I have tons of plush *strap* elastics too, not just the softer stuff for finishing the bra edges. Has anyone tried to use these for edge finishing? Obviously they're stiffer, so they might cut into the flesh too much. If anyone has had comfortable results with these I'd like to hear about it. (I seem to remember the Cameo/Colesce/Brantly bras have non-stretch twill bottom bands. I'd expect a wide satin-faced plush elastic would be okay in the bottom band. Just not sure about the upper edges.)

Me either. If I find some that is fine enough, I'll post it.

I have some of that. It's decent but not for bras.
