Thank you Beverly,

Lets hope so when I get them to the Christmas markets!! It's a very mixed clientelle here as I am based in the country so I have clients who don't want well dressed just tough and cheap and then some that are more chic and like something they can't find anywhere else.

What I do find here in France is that I am apreciated more as an Artisan, customers like the fact that they have met the person that designed and made the item ( It's the same with the statues) and that most of what I make is a one off. In the Uk I found for me that it was harder to get a good price for handmade items. It did seem to be an attitude well if you made it I could to so why so expensive!

Fingers crossed with the boys outfits. My customers buy more easily for girls than boys. Aprons are going very well at the moment, and they are both girl and boy design. It's not a cliché that the French still love cooking.

I haven't sewn a thing since November 8. I now have a puppy and she is taking up all my time. That's not a complaint! I had my machine cleaned and tuned up while I was out of town and I haven't even set it up yet. I have so many projects to sew, but even my hand sewing has taken a back seat for a little while.

___________________ And then again, I guess I ought to answer my own question, huh? Here's the list, and Santa is in trouble if he depends on me to finish this stuff: 1) About 20 fleece camo hunting face mask/hoods are cut out and sewn, waiting for the fiddly mouth binding. 2) black lace bought for a long-sleeved top; can't get the potential recipient to cough-up her measurements 3) fleece jacket or two to finish 4) fleece blanket--maybe--might be a robe instead. Haven't decided. 5) whatever else turns up in my bag of fabulous fabrics to seduce me. I just came across some beautiful burnout velvet that I'd forgotten I bought. Yummy stuff. I'm off to the sweatshop. (Dinner was baked brie/cranberries en croute, with a crisp apple and 2 glasses of merlot. Yum! I am sure enjoying this single status. Yesh, I can shew after drinking...) I do so much better when sewing or making jewelry. I should get back to work. Thanks for this post, it is an inspiration. I have two sheds (12ft x 8ft x

30ft) rather stuffed with raw cloth.

Ugh. Woke up Friday AM with horrible sore throat, temp has varied between 100.1-102.8F, coughing ugly greenish goop, nose completely stuffed up, every joint aches and feeling very sorry for myself. Sewing is on the back burner. I did manage to deliver one of the donation capes and get the second one cut out just before the diflooptagories hit.

I straggled into the computer Sunday and ordered 3.5 yards of this for Yet Another Cape® (and matching hat) for my sister for Xmas:

I asked her first about whether she had scruples about wearing animal print fleece, happily she loved the idea. It may not get any more along than wrapped for our gift exchange day, but the promise and love will be there.

Beverly, feeling about 80% better today.

--------------------- BLECCCCCH!! Not lovin' the details, Beverly, but I hope you get over th is quick. My Doctor Mom licence from the crackerjack box allows me to recommend a nasal wash with hydrogen peroxide. Normal people mix the stuff with water before inhaling it up the schnozz. Since I apparently lack nerve endings, I used it straight on TheSinusInfectionFromHell. I managed to get rid of tha t S.I., which had lasted the better part of a year, but let me add a Discla imer: I will never be able to do long division again. Flushed that part of the brain right out. And my neighbor claims she heard me screaming all the way up the end of the street. But, seriously, I haven't had a S.I. since then, and that was over 10 years ago. Used to get them regularly. The odd thing is, no one ever want to do this... Cea

Your vivid description makes me want to rush right out and buy a Neti pot. NOT !!! (My DD, the hospital lab tech has been urging me to try one for years.)

However, I am feeling so much better, thanks for your good thoughts. I may even go out and do some Xmas shopping this afternoon.

Uh-oh! Really, been out, cleaning away RTW-boutiques again? Tsk-tsk! But seriously: Get well soon! Here's a virtual mulled wine for you! Did you ever try calendula flower leaves for sore throat? Pour 1 litre of boiling water over 1 tablespoon of petals, let steep for 5 minutes then drink slowly cup by cup, with or without honey, but make sure that you swirl the liquid in your mouth. There is another version for gargling with: 1 Tbs in 1 cup of cold water, in a pan on stove, heat slowly until tiny bubbles start to rise (don't boil it!). Let it steep that way for 5 minutes and then sift out the petals. Use the liquid to gargle with several times a day. Tastes horribly but helps to drive away the sore throat.

And, for heaven's sake, do sew something warm for yourself once in a while! ;-)
