Camp Ideas with RS

You guys are the most creative people around and am asking for help or donations of items. Guess who is going to be her daughter's camp counselor at Girl Scout day camp? awwww...you guessed. The camp session is the last week of June...we will attempt to earn

3 badges (Try-its) in the areas of animals, colors and shapes, and sports/games. The theme is Come to the Fair. I am searching my stash for stamps and materials as you read this message. So need some crafty ideas ----they plan to have a judging contest at the end of the week for the crafts and I am hoping my little group is a winner...So if anyone has any ideas or even wants to make a small donation to the group..just let me know...

thanks mucho debbie Brownie Leader in Ohio

Debbie, my brain hasn't kicked into gear yet, but just wanted to tell you I spent 20 years as a GS leader and they were the most rewarding, stimulating years of my life. Hope she sticks with it all the way thru Seniors. You will have so much fun. Elise "

GIRL SCOUTS RULE!!!! I would be a completely different and lesser person if not for GS! I have a dear group of 11 friends who were at one time or another all leaders together - four of us after having been girls in the other's troops. We have traveled to Great Britain, western Europe, Scandinavia, Australia, Florida, West Virginia, Wyoming, Nova Scotia, Cape Cod with girls. We have been through lots together and have been fast friends as a group for 20 years!!!!! Now we're beginning to spread out across the country - Ohio is where we started - to Michigan, California, Colorado and Vermont. Over memorial Day weekend we will gather in Niagara on the Lake for a weekend of shopping, adult beverages and LAUGHTER! (You might just hear us!) ANYWAY - Crafts!

Carve stamps out or potatoes and use acrylic paint. (dry potatoes first, so the paint will stick) or cut sponges into shapes for stamps.

Sports & Games = Relay races!!! fill a cup with water carried in a soup spoon pass an apple up the line by holding it under your chin carry an egg (hardboiled is less messy) in spoon Tie a spoon on a long string - pass the spoon down the front of your shirt, and out through the bottom of your pants then on to the next girl. (especially fun on a hot day if the spoon is icy cold from being in the cooler!)

Animals? Pin the name ( or picture) of an animal on the back of each girl so she cannot see what she is. She must ask yes or no questions of other girls about her animal until she figures our what she is. (This is also a good get to know you activity.)
