Rubber Stamp made from RTV?

Hi folks, just discovered Rubber Stamping and NOW got it in my head to make some of my own. Is it possible to make using Silicone RTV instead of using an expensive stamp making machine?

Better Method doable in oven? Thanks

I've never tried making any of my own stamps. Sorry I can't help you out!

There are ways to make silicone based rubber-stamps using a photo-sensitive plate as a resist; personally, I don't like the feel of the "gummy" stamps that result.

Another inexpensive option for making your own is by mail order via Readystamps, a service of the United Cerebral Palsy Association. You send them black and white drawings of your stamp designs, as many as will fit on a 9"x7" page, and they send you back a vulcanized, red rubber plate of high-quality stamps that you can cut apart and glue onto backing/handles to make stamps. If you ask, they'll also send you the stamp matrix, which can be used as a mold for poly clay, cast paper and other materials.

service is terrific, their prices reasonable, the stamps top quality - and it benefits a good cause.
