Non-scratchy, non-linty, synthetic cloth

Hi--

I posted this message on the rec.photos.digital group, but didn't get much response. I'm hoping you all can help!

Here's the message:

I'm sewing some camera bags for my DSLR and lenses, and want to use a non-abrasive and non-linty fabric for the liner so that the LCD (or any

other part of the camera and lens) does not get scratched. Does anyone

know what type of fabric can be used? Lowe bags use a "brushed-tricot lining," but when I look up tricot, I find the following...so I'm still

in the dark.

  1. A plain, warp-knitted cloth of any of various yarns.
  2. A soft ribbed cloth of wool or a wool blend, usually used for dresses.

Any thoughts?

What about buying microfiber towels and using them? I bought some to use to clean my plastic-lens eyeglasses with and I think they would work really well.

Sounds like perhaps the brushed tricot used for sleepwear? A Google on "brushed tricot fabric" returned lots of sites. You might try:

Most seem to be in Asia... :-(

I think my local TSWLTH JoAnn Fabrics) carries (or carried?) it. Ask in the fabric store for children's sleepwear fabric?
