A friend asked me if I could turn a sax mouth piece. Any hints/tips on doing this? What type of finish could be used? I rough cut the sound chamber with a router and hand chiseled the rest.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Well, no not a sax, but I did turn a trumpet mouth piece out of ebony that was a success. The critical points for me were the entrance hole size and the exit hole size as well as the bowl for lips. Actually I used an old month piece and closely copied all of the dimensions. I believe a sax mouth piece is different, doesn't it have a reed and flat area on top? I did not use a finish beyond a highly polished surface. I used ebony because it is so hard, stable and can take a glass like finish. GCS
