It is disappointing to find out that Jet is not offering an upgrade kit for the old model mini-lathes to become variable speed. I do think the price of the new lathe is quite reasonable, however, I could not get enough for my old lathe to help pay for the new one.
[sigh]Oh, heck, man, just hang on to the old one. That's what I'm going to do. As long as we turn small stuff, we don't really need to change speeds that much anyway.....................
