It is disappointing to find out that Jet is not offering an upgrade kit for the old model mini-lathes to become variable speed. I do think the price of the new lathe is quite reasonable, however, I could not get enough for my old lathe to help pay for the new one.
Oh, heck, man, just hang on to the old one. That's what I'm going to do. As long as we turn small stuff, we don't really need to change speeds that much anyway.....................
