Actually, since the Jet uses a #2 MT and a 1"-8 spindle thread, both of which are exceedingly common sizes, almost any of the manufacturers' attachements will fit the it. In fact, I have a VicMarc chuck on my Jet. At the time it was a little less expensive than the others. I'm not so sure now, not having tracked the Australian dollar against the USD.
As others have mentioned, it'll be surprising if you don't keep the Jet Mini even after you buy your second (or even third) lathe.
Also, unless you invest heavily in pen turning tools, most of the tools you would buy for a larger lathe are just as suitable for use on the Jet. So, looking at it another way, buy full sized tools (and not "sets") so you'll be ready when you get your next lathe. Even though the Jet is a "mini", don't think of it as a junior or miniature lathe. It'll do full sized work.
