lazy susan

Hello all - My father is a segmented wood turner and is interested in trying to make some lazy susan's. One thing - he does not care for the ball bearing noise they make. Can you make a lazy susan without metal?

Yes. Use delrin bearings- warning- they're expensive, check industrial supply like Grainger for these. He can also use captive glass or plastic bearings (balls in a track/indent). For some other options with metal, he can use automotive roller bearings (axel type) that would work with a hole & post. The better lazy susan bearings do not make any noise.

Since you have already gotten a serious answer to this, I don't feel guilty with my reply:

Oh, that's nice...how many segments does he have? Just the regular, head, thorax and abdomen we learned about in school or does he have more?

I know, but sometimes ya can't just let the easy ones slip on by!
