Yeah, I do, but it ticks me off to buy a stand 'custom-made' for a particular machine only to find I need to recustomize it. Might as well have saved the $150 and built the thing myself.
My early model DVR has exactly the same bolt pattern as my earlier Nova
3000. Thus I was able to bolt it down to the stand I had previously used for my 3000.
One possible explanation might be that you have the stand reversed head for tail end.
Actually, there are two DVR/3K "stands": the traditional sheet metal stand and the new (and just becoming available) cast iron leg set. I am assuming you have the older sheet metal stand, one that I have never read anyone complain of having difficulties with bolt alignment with. Of course it is always possible you have one which was defectively drilled, but odds would be against that.
If it were me, and I had just obtained a sheet metal stand that was problematic, I would return it and press hard to have the dealer obtain the new cast iron leg set. They should be in the US right now, and are likely sitting is some warehouse waiting for distribution.
If none of this works out for you and you are willing to go to a little extra trouble, I have a friend who adapted the Jet cast iron leg set to his DVR. He is extremely pleased with this let set and I can likely get you in touch with him for the details.
Thanks much for the help. I contacted Woodcraft (guys I bought it from) and it turns out that Tekna just contracted their third vendor to make the leg stands. They also accidentally sent them an outdated spec drawing which means there is one batch of 'bad' tops floating around that got out before they caught the error. They're sending me another one.
If that one's screwed up, I'm going to ask for the cast iron set, tho. didn't even know that was available. Thanks again.
I want to do an update as a lot has changed (almost all for the better) since my early review. Whats holding me up is waiting on some changes from Teknatool. I think some very interesting things are getting close to being released from the pipeline, but aren't quite there yet. So I've been holding off until they hit. All in all, I remain very pleased, but there are some changes I would be quite pleased to comment on, but my lathe has to actually see those changes first.
