i'm new to pen turning and have been using spray on laquer for the finish i also use hut crystal coat.my question is which is best for a lasting finish. thanks dennis

The Lacquer, although spray application for pens is pretty inconvenient.
Hut Crystal Coat and most commercial friction polishes are shellac based. They don't wear well in this application when compared to a good lacquer finish.
