GOOD MORNING SUNDAY 29th January

Good morning ,,,,,, dreamers , The sky is Pink anf Metal light blue i suspect it is cold. Sesveral days of rains have cleared away every mini cloud ,,, The Anthena next house that usually has at least 12 doves has only 2 ,,, the Raven that usually starts the morning with Horrid noises hasn`t peeped at all this morning and all birds fly low .... I realized that i was so busy with doing little cute handcrafty things that i haven`t read much in the week end papers ,,,, thus i will do that with my coffee ,,, i keep on `arranging` my room and closets.... Just had a call from Quilter colleague who was delighted with my box of treasures i sent her , esp the left over threads which she uses as hairs and other adornments ,,,, By the way several of my colleagues use the loops of tins [ Colla tins, and cat food tins] as adornments on their work ,, those loops have 2 holes are shiny , and you have them in silvery and goldeny variaties. On my turkiz sweater i now work on my body part downwards. Today / tomorrow i am wrapping up all the artits to say if they are in or out of the exhibition . The range of works is amazing . I am finnishing a shawl for somebody , and hope to send it to her this week. I visited an Artist i knew as a young girl [ last time i saw her she was in a kid`s chair on her mother`s bike!!!] . She presented me with her Grandma`s book [ about her families] ....i knew her Grandma Knew My muredered Grandparents ,,, but when i looked into the Amsterdam cahpter i wasstill surprised to read that her Grandma taught mine to sew , My grandparents made her a dinner party for her marriage and about My Grandfather workshop ... A hand from the past reached my heart. I know so little about these grandparents and here they are mentioned in a Book written in USA ,,,, Good morning Ng ,, time for second coffee,,, See you all later mirjam

Back from church and lunch. This morning DH and I added a little rock from near the Dead Sea to the congregational prayer box - which contains dirt, sand, or rocks from all sorts of places that are in our prayers. A young man also added soil - his was fromover a mass grave in Bosnia. Of course, it is the people of those lands and not the dirt and rocks that the prayers of peace are offered for - but the physical soil is a reminder.

I am working on a sweater for my DGD#2 - she is eleven and I always have trouble finding patterns for the in between ages and have to do a little adjusting. She has stretched out a bit but not yet developed. Soon enough the curves will come. I did find some neon Falk from Dale and took some ideas from a book they have for tweens - though I did a little mixing of the patterns. Hopefully I will get it done before she grows out of it. I started on a sleeve but have left off that while I get a current measurement from DD and now have finished the lower ribbing band.

I have a couple of other projects on the needles but neither of those recipients are supposed to be growing. (Though somewhere in his adulthood, DH has gone from a medium to a large -- and my DD who is also an adult has gone from a large to a medium-- I will leave myself out of this discussion!)

We are still having soggy weather but at least lately we have gotten some glimpses of sun - not a whole day but enough to go for a brief walk without umbrella.

One of my presents for DGD#2 didn't fit and was returned. I got inspired by all the small frame weaving discussion and just ordered a kid's kit from Hazel as a replacement. She likes projects (I gave her yarn and a beginning crochet book last time I was there) and I think she will be able to work out the projects in the accompanying book and perhaps freelance on a few of her own once she gets the hang of it. I may have to give it a trial spin first - who knows.

DH and I are planning to go to Italy in March and I am getting busy lining up the logistics. He has to speak (I just tag along on these adventures) but we will also spend a little time poking around. This time we will spend a few days in Sicily before heading north to the university town of Ferrara. We have been there once before and enjoyed it - not really a tourist destination but an interesting place not too far from Bologna.

Yes, but we can read between the lines. :-) Sorry, I just couldn't resist a little teasing.
